The Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, called for keeping Lebanon away from intervening in the affairs of the Syrian regime, people and institutions.

"Let the Syrian people choose with their officials what they want through dialogue and reform," Qassem said.
In a graduation ceremony, His Eminence stated that "the world powers on top of which is the US refused but to mess with Syria, and sought with a number of regional systems to destroy it and to hit the resistance."
"They aimed at targeting the Palestinian cause and converting Syria to a position that serves the "Israeli" project," Sheikh Qassem said.

On the internal level, Sheikh Qassem highlighted that " if the current government hadn't existed with its political position, a war would have broken out in Lebanon as part of the Syrian crisis."
"March 14 group only follows foreign dictates coming their way," Qassem added, accusing the same group of "bearing the intention to carry out foreign orders, even if that meant the collapse of the entire nation."
He also warned "from attempts to turn political stances into sectarian ones because such acts stir strife and impose great danger, thus ought to be prohibited."

His Eminence further accused March 14 of pushing Lebanon towards arming and sheltering militants, also establishing a buffer zone in the North.
"We call for giving the opportunity to the Syrian people and leadership to solve their problems without interfering or dragging Lebanon into a losing battle that benefits the US-"Israeli" arrogance."
In parallel, the Hizbullah top official wondered: "What justification do they have to attack the heart of resistance that liberated Lebanon?"

"We will use all our strength to bring stability, and to render all our endeavors a national rather than a sectarian act," he vowed.
On another level, Sheikh Qassem reiterated Hizbullah's support to an electoral law based on proportionality.
"This law is the fairest and the most representing among the present ones as it reflects the people's real will," he clarified.

Commenting on the insulting film against the Holy Prophet Mohammad, His Eminence viewed that "the US administration is responsible for this disregard."
"If they think that with such acts, cartoons, writings or corruptive movies they can affect the faith and beliefs of Muslims, they are completely mistaken," he concluded.
