Fayyad: Linking Lebanon to Syrian Crisis A Wrong Bet
Local Editor
The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayyad stressed that "there is no Lebanese division on the illness of the general Lebanese situation."
He also warned that the growing "of complexities at the regional level opened the front doors of our small country in front of the serious repercussions of the Syrian crisis."
"Basic facts must be taken into account as the existing political division in the country is not limited to the political level," Fayyad stated.
He further cautioned that " such division will leave its impact on the overall performance of the state's institutions, as well as on the livelihood issues related to the citizens lives, from electricity to oil files and many others."
"The danger of division in Lebanon is that political titles are quickly converted to social sectarian strife," he explained and noted that "linking Lebanon to the Syrian crisis and its implications as well as betting that its outcomes are supposed to change the equations of Lebanon is a wrong bet."
In parallel, Fayyad urged all Lebanese sides to consider security as a red line so that they release the state's hands in the prosecution of violators.
"Security is also linked to granting the security forces and judicial organs the comprehensive cover for exercising their role," he added.
