Iran to Hold Conference on Syria, Ahmadinejad: Political Approach Only Way to Save Syria

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed that "adopting political approaches based on the interests of the Syrian people is the only solution to the problems in the Muslim country."
" Iran considers political approaches based on the interests of the Syrian people as the only way out of current situation," Ahmadinejad said in a Wednesday meeting with Sughra Imam, the special envoy of Pakistani President Zardari to Tehran.
Criticizing certain regional countries for interfering in Syria's military conflicts, the Iranian president said the continuation of clashes in Syria complicates the situation and renders future bleak.
This came as Tehran is due to hold an international conference on the developments in Syria on Thursday.
The Thursday's consultative meeting to study the Syrian developments will be held in Tehran with the participation of a remarkable number of interested and influential regional and world states.
According to top Iranian officials, Tehran conference will be held to strengthen and stress pervasive regional and international efforts to help the Syrian people come out of the current crisis.
