Barak: following with concern the possibility of smuggling Developed Weapons to
Hizbullah

Channel 10

"Defense Minister" Ehud Barak said, during a security review presented yesterday at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the main threat directed to "Israel" from the Gaza Strip, is the ability -of what he called- the vandals to fire missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of 70 kilometers.
Barak saw that the deadlock in the negotiations with the Palestinians isn't in "Israel's" interest, adding that the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, are committed to thwart sabotage, and they are succeeding in this task, although there is no progress in the negotiations.

Barak touched on the situation in Egypt, and explained that the Muslim Brotherhood is trying to maintain a balance and not clashing with the Egyptian military. However, Barak stressed that their rise to power supports the authority of Hamas in Gaza, which may increase the strength of Hamas in comparison with the power of Fatah in the West Bank.
As for the situation in Syria, Barak stated that "Israel" will follow with concern the possibility of smuggling developed means of combat to Hizbullah who fears the fall of Bashar al-Assad regime. According to him, Iran and Hizbullah are working to rescue President al-Assad.

He added that Iran fears al-Assad's fall because it will form a blow to the radical axis it leads. But according to Barak, the fall of al-Assad is fatal in light of the developments in Syria.
The assistant of the head of the research department at the Division of "Israeli" military intelligence (Amman) said during the meeting that "Israel" estimates that the al-Assad regime will not stand up to the opposition and the wave of dissents in the Syrian army.

With regard to the Iranian issue the Defense Minister Barak said that the time remained to act against Iran is not measured in few weeks and not in years as well.
He said, "I think that the talks between Iran and the six powers will not reach the desired results in the cessation of Iran's nuclear program". According to his words the sanctions imposed on Tehran now will never reach the desired results.

"Israel" Naval Force preparing to protect oil fields in the Mediterranean

Amir Bohbot - Walla!News

Walla news site reported that the "Israeli" army is preparing to prevent the execution of attacks across the seafront, and is following closely the attempts of smuggling weapons into Lebanon that affect the qualitative superiority weapon of the "Israeli" naval force. This comes in light of the escalating threats launched by the Secretary General of Hizbullah (Sayyed) Hassan Nasrallah, in which he threatened to hit the "Israeli" gas and oil extraction facilities in the Mediterranean.

A senior officer in the "Israeli" army says that "Israel" knows that Hizbullah is making great efforts in order to obtain large quantities of Chinese-made naval missiles of C802 model, and is seeking the help of Iran in order to achieve this goal. Hizbullah is trying to acquire advanced naval radars. According to the site, senior officers in the "Israeli" army say that the facilities that extract gas from the Mediterranean Sea will become a target for terrorist organizations that are trying to control them or hit them by rockets, mines or suicidal groups.
