30 Years on Imam’s Demise, He Still Inspires the Youth

The 23rd anniversary of Imam Khomeini's demise has arrived. Founder of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini has altered many of the international equations, established a unique Islamic system that was the backbone for the development that took place on the scientific, cultural, political and economic levels. The Youth play a vital role in the Islamic revolution, even though many of them did not live with the Imam, yet they adhere to his teachings and path.
The third and fourth generations of the Islamic revolution youths in Iran have been striving to realize the goals of the rising that was started by the Imam.
Young Iranian Ibrahim Iraqiya, a university graduate told al-Intiqad that when he read in history about the interference of colonial powers in Iranian internal affairs and how the revolution of Imam Khomeini cut the colonialist hands from meddling in Iran, he felt proud and strong.
According to the young man, Imam Khomeini was the one to bring all the concepts to light which led Iran to attaining self-sufficiency. The Imam, according to Iraqiya, initiated a policy that allowed Iran take its own decisions without foreign interference.
Hussein Taheri, for his part, is a high school student, who believes that Imam Khomeini highly depended on school and university students. The revolution, in Taheri's opinion, is a youth revolution, and the young men taking part in it have the love of Imam Khomeini filling their hearts.
Imam Khomeini provided the Iranian people with dignity and independence, he was a divine man, said Taheri.
As for Mohammad Reda, 21 years old who studies theology and law says "the late Imam was a wise man, he drew a path for us, the youth, in order to follow. Imam had foreseen many events, most important of which is the Islamic awakening we live today.
Another university student, Mohammad Khaki said that Imam Khomeini is the ideal to the youth, he is the role model we look up to as he has set sublime goals we should achieve in life. To him and the other young men, Imam Khomeini is a school that teaches how to fight oppression and live with dignity.
