The following are the Islamic-Resistance operations that took place during the month of April in 1996...

April 1996... Islamic Resistance Fights for Nation

In April, the Islamic Resistance fought for the whole Lebanese nation; the Islamic-Resistance fighters did not limit combat and operations to a certain frontier. They fought in the enemy in West Beqaa, in the South, and in occupied Palestine.
April was the time for the Resistance to strike powerfully. Though a conspiracy was conspired in Sharm ash-Sheikh, the Islamic Resistance did not move a step back.

"The fighters shan't leave the Zionist settlers in peace as long as the people of the South and of West Beqaa were assailed. And in return for the aggression against Beirut Southern Suburb, the Resistance shall make a thundering counterstrike whether in the north of occupied Palestine or in other places...
The Islamic Resistance is going to foil the enemy's new equation and stun Perez and make him regret his decisions."

In this stance, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared the Islamic Resistance was going to keep its promise as to defending its people. His Eminence threatened Perez he was going to pay hard for "the April Aggression"; indeed, "Operation Grapes of Wrath" was completely foiled, and Perez now had to deal with the repercussions...

Significant was the Katyusha counterstrike as the barbaric enemy escalated its aggressions against Lebanon. As surveyed by the Islamic Resistance, 47 settlements were bombarded with 269 Katyusha-rocket sets. (Each set had 3 to 12 rockets.)
The fighters as well performed 54 operations against the enemy sites and patrols, killing an "Israeli" and wounding 95 others, among whom were 93 settlers. A Lahd militiaman was wounded, too.

"Grapes of Wrath" Begins

On Tuesday, April 9, 1996, the "Israeli" enemy massacred innocent civilians in Braachit, martyring a boy and wounding others.
Barely had twelve hours passed when the Islamic Resistance launched three rocket sets against the "Israeli" settlements of Keryat Shemona and Nahariya in the north of occupied Palestine.
A Zionist military spokesman acknowledged that thirty-six settlers were wounded.

Military vehicles went all over the northern settlements so as to warn the settlers and make them seek shelter.
Following these developments were "Israel's" threat concerning an air incursion into Lebanon, whereby "Israel" declared it would be debase "the July Agreement". For his part, Shimon Perez declared that "Israel" could no longer "trust" any promises and that the "Israeli" military was going to "strike" Hizbullah "the right way".

Islamic Resistance Counters Aggression: First Day: Thursday, April 11, 1996

Having asked the settlers to evacuate their houses and rush to shelters, the occupation forces began their aggression at the crack of dawn. Several Zionist war planes carried out ten airstrikes against Beirut, Beirut Southern Suburb, Baalbeck, and the South. The airstrikes martyred five civilians and wounded eleven others, among who were two Lebanese-Army soldiers.

Islamic Resistance Counters Aggression: Second Day: Friday, April 12, 1996

To fulfill Hizbullah's promise as to defending civilians, the Islamic Resistance began a counterattack at 9:40 a.m. The first set of the Resistance's Katyusha rockets struck Keryat Shemona Settlement, the second struck Nahariya Settlement, and the third hit al-Motelleh Settlement.
Soon afterwards, the Resistance bombarded Tarsheeha Settlement.
At night, the Islamic Resistance escalated its missile attack, launching three rocket sets against the settlements of Nahariya, Safsaf, Nafut Mordechai, and Keryat Shemona.

Upon the statement of eye witnesses, 12 to 20 rockets struck Keryat Shemona, at least ten places were set afire, and a hotel was directly hit. The settlers were so overwhelmed that they posted banners on the doors of their shelters. The banners read: "Keryat Shemona: Settlement for Sale", "City of Ghosts for Sale".

Islamic Resistance Counters Aggression: Third Day: Saturday, April 13, 1996

After the "Israeli" enemy massacred the civilians of Sohmor Town and al-Mansouri Town, the Islamic Resistance further cannonaded the settlements, refuting the Zionists' claims as to "the severe constraint" Hizbullah "suffered" upon the continuous "Israeli" military pressure.
The Resistance fighters actually cannonaded Nahariya Settlement, in addition to Zionist troops marshaled at Haddatha Site, where a senior Zionist commander was. The site suffered serious losses.

In the evening, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared Hizbullah was ready to counterstrike. His Eminence called all Hizbullah fighters to marshal. His Eminence as well asked the self-sacrifice fighters to rejoin their previously determined centers and be fully ready.
Now the Islamic Resistance further launched Katyusha rockets against the settlements of Nahariya, Gideon, and Yasoud Alya. Likewise, the Resistance launched Katyusha rockets against Keryat Shemona Settlement, where a rocket hit a high-voltage electric pole and caused an electric shortage.

The rocket launching actually concurred with the visit of the "Israeli" President Azar Wiseman's visit to a shelter of Keryat Shemona.
The Zionist military spokesman Colonel Ragan Guycin pointed out that missile launching cost "Israel" millions of dollars. For his part, the Zionist environment minister said "Israel" had to finish "Operation Grapes of Wrath" and to avoid inflicting the trouble of war on itself.

Resistance Confronts Aggression, Fourth Day: Sunday, April 14, 1996

Concurrent with warning the residents of the southern towns as to evacuating their houses, the Zionist aggression targeted larger areas.
Counteracting, the Islamic Resistance now launched greater rocket sets; whereby the first Katyusha set introduced the greatest missile attack the north of "Israel" had so far suffered, said a Zionist militant spokesman, who added, "The rocket launching did stop for the whole day. Eventually we stopped counting them."

For its part, the Islamic Resistance declared in a statement it was going to turn the Zionist settlements into hell and prevent any settler from going back there as long as the "Israeli" aggression against Lebanon continued.
At 7:30 a.m., the Resistance cannonade began to counterattack the following Zionist settlements: Keryat Shemona, Azouk at-Tehtani, Kfar Gelaat, Gideon, Sikmata, al-Motelleh, Alma, Miram Baroukh, Sadi Enhameya, Gorin, Margeliot, Fadi Eleazar, Yasuda Hamaala, Kfar Yufal, and Shelomi.

In the afternoon, the Resistance launched rockets against a wider range of settlements like: Safed, Ramat Naphtali, Tarsheeha, Shelomi, and Ra's al-Ahmar.
In fact, the rockets launched by the Resistance damaged over 400 settlement units.
The enemy's channel pointed out that: "the Southern Frontline" Chief Samuel Arad had miraculously escaped death; only several tens of meters separated him from the rockets hitting the Zionist settlements.
Furthermore, the Islamic Resistance dropped a Zionist MK surveillance drone above Baalbeck, near Boudai Town.

At 8:00 p.m., Hizbullah's "al-Manar Television" showed seventy Islamic-Resistance self-sacrifice fighters in military garments. The fighters had responded to the call of Hizbullah Chief of the Armed Forces His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whereby they swore they were ready for martyrdom and for rocking the enemy.
Later that night, chief of the Zionist military intelligence warned his political command that Hizbullah might conduct self-sacrifice operations against the "Israeli" establishments.

Resistance Confronts Aggression, Fifth Day: Monday, April 15, 1996

The enemy escalated its aggressions and airstrikes, particularly against the cities of Nabatiyeh and Tyr. The enemy as well bombarded the power plants in Bsalim. Hereupon, the Islamic Resistance targeted a wider range of settlements in the north of occupied Palestine.
The chief of the "Israeli" Mossad declared, "It is impossible to stop the ones seeking death or to find out what their plans are."

Following such a stance of the frustrated enemy, "Haaretz's" military correspondent Zaif Shef reported to the enemy's channel, "The "Israeli" military has been unable to dislodge the civilians of Tyre (Sur)... It is difficult to make the citizens leave their city."
For its part, the Islamic Resistance issued the following statement, "Within the range of the Islamic Resistance's targets is the north of occupied Palestine starting with the latitude 33˚, where the Lebanese borders meet with the Palestinian borders.

The range covers the settlements starting with Safed Settlement until Senbar Settlement in Golan. All military, civil, economic, and tourism centers in these settlements shall be within the Islamic Resistance's fire range, and whoever remains there shall bear the consequences."
Since the crack of dawn, the Islamic Resistance launched tens of Katyusha-rocket sets against most settlements of the north of occupied Palestine: Keryat Shemona, Zarait, Alam, al-Motelleh, Sikmata, Harfeesh, Miram Baroukh, Tarsheeha, and Ra's al-Ahmar.

In the afternoon, the Resistance's rockets struck the settlements of Margeliot, Kfar Gelaat, Yeftah, Kfar Yufal Shelomi, Tarsheeha, Hanout, Nahariya, Safout, and Kfar Bir'am. The Resistance struck Nahariya Settlement again at night.
Now the enemy went on with the psychological war, warning the civilians of the southern towns and Saida not to stay at their homes. In contrast, Hizbullah's "an-Nour Radio Station" broadcasted statements warning that the Resistance's rockets would scare the settlers to death and dislodge them as the southern civilians were dislodged.

Former Chief of the "Israeli" Air Forces Deputy General Amen Houbeth Noun admitted in a governmental meeting, "Hizbullah's multifunctional militarism is difficult to destroy though "Israel" has sent the best planes and helicopters and developed monitoring devices."
On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance proudly announced to its people the martyrdom of fighter Khodr Ibrahim Khiyami during the confrontations.
At night, the enemy's channel announced that the military censorship prevented the media from spreading any more news on the casualties of the Resistance's bombardments against the settlements. Yet, the channel acknowledged that the "Israeli" Prime Minister Shimon Perez miraculously escaped death while checking a settlement in the north of occupied Palestine, where a rocket almost hit him.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Sixth Day: Tuesday, April 16, 1996

The Resistance continued to launch rockets as the enemy's brutal aggressions did not stop.
In spite of the Zionist censorship's instructions, the enemy's channel reported, "Over 80% of the settlers of Keryat Shemona Settlement have abandoned it; whereas the other 20% are employees forced to stay there." The channel as well added that its correspondents had discovered the houses and shelters in the settlements bombarded had been abandoned.

As for the international news agencies, they mentioned 100 rockets had been launched against the Zionist settlements that day.
Again the Islamic-Resistance artillery struck a wider range: the settlements of Margeliot, Keryat Shemona, Azouk at-Tehtani, Alma, Shelomi, Hanout, Borin Arayin, Deir el-Qadi, Kamirafadoun, Azit, as-Safsaf, Jeshira Hazeef, Kinibiya, and az-Zawiya.
In the afternoon, the Resistance bombarded Keryat Shemona Settlement twice; only an hour separated the bombardments from each other.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Seventh Day: Wednesday, April 17, 1996

Further counteracting, the Islamic-Resistance artillery launched Katyusha rockets against Safed Settlement (15 kilometers away from the Lebanese borders with Palestine), as well as the settlements of Keryat Shemona, Miram Baroukh, and Margeliot.
Also before noon, the Resistance artillery struck the settlements of Reishoun and Sikmata. In the afternoon, the artillery struck the settlements of Keryat Shemona, Kfar Yufal, and Nahariya.

Positioned in the occupied region, the Islamic-Resistance artillerists of "al-Hinniyeh-Massacre" martyrs made a unique performance as to accurately hitting Safed City.
In the evening, the Islamic-Resistance artillery launched two sets of rockets against the settlements of Shelomi and Maasouki. Concurrently, other Islamic-Resistance groups attacked an infantry accompanied by a military convoy at the entrance to Braachit Site. The infantry and the convoy suffered grave casualties.

Having monitored Zionist troops marshaled at Sojod Site, other Islamic-Resistance fighters clashed with the site garrison. As well, the fighters clashed with the garrison of Bir Kallab Site.
For its part, the Islamic-Resistance Sniping Unit gunned an enemy soldier down onto a rampart at Sojod Site.
Actually, the "Israeli" Deputy Chief of Staff Matan Velnai admitted Hizbullah's launching of Katyusha rockets was a real challenge, also that the style of Hizbullah's artillery attacks made things more complicated for "Israel".

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Eighth Day: Thursday, April 18, 1996

At the crack of dawn, the Islamic Resistance went on with its rocket counterstrike, hitting the settlements of Tarsheeha, Yeftah, and Deir el-Qadi.
Sources of the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon) said, "Hizbullah launched about 600 Katyusha rockets in the first week of war."
At noon, the Resistance inflicted revenge on the enemy that had massacred civilians in Nabatiyeh el-Fawka; the artillerists bombarded Kfar Bir'am Settlement.
Having massacred more civilians in Qana in the afternoon, the enemy was struck by the Resistance only twenty minutes afterwards; whereby the Resistance launched three sets of rockets against the settlements of Keryat Shemona, Miram Baroukh, and Azouk at-Tehtani.

In the meantime, other Resistance fighters monitored a Zionist force lurking in the outskirts of Yater Town, so the fighters lay in ambush.
As the force approached the ambush spot, the fighters struck it with their machineguns and artillery, causing the force grave casualties. To cover the withdrawal of the surviving soldiers, the enemy dropped smoke grenades in the operation zone.
On the same day, the Resistance proudly announced to its people the martyrdom of fighter Hassan Mahmoud el-Amine (from Shakra Town) and fighter Ahmad Abdul Jalil Sherri (from Khirbit Selm Town). Both fighters were martyred while confronting the Zionists.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Ninth Day: Friday, April 19, 1996

"The Zionist enemy is still assailing innocent civilians and shelling towns and main roads. The Resistance does have the right to defend the Lebanese people and to counterattack the aggressors," a senior Islamic-Resistance officer reiterated as to the Resistance's counterstrike.
That day, the Resistance's Katyusha rockets razed the enemy settlements of Nahariya, al-Motelleh, Ramat Neftali, Yeftah, Kfar Bor'om, Shelomi, and Masouta.

Soon afterwards, the Resistance struck the settlements of Masouta, Kfar Yufal, Kamira Avon, and al-Motelleh.
At noon, the Resistance artillerists twice bombarded Yeftah Settlement.
Also in the afternoon, the Resistance artillerists launched sets of rockets against the settlements of Kfar Gilaati, al-Motelleh, Azouk at-Tehtani, Nahariya, and Keryat Shemona.
At night, the group of Sohmor martyrs razed Nahariya Settlement.
The international news agencies pointed out, "A set of rockets hit the settlements shortly after the "Israeli" Health Minister Afraim Senai had finished his round in the occupied region." The news agencies as well declared the Katyusha rockets resulted in fifty casualties among the settlers as well as great damage of properties.

As a Zionist force attempted to carry out an airdrop onto Toumet Niha and progress to the hills of Ain et-Tineh, the Islamic-Resistance fighters confronted it. Having violently clashed with the counter force for an hour and a half, the fighters foiled its mission.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Tenth Day: Saturday, April 20, 1996

The Islamic Resistance issued the following statement:
"The Islamic Resistance is still inflicting revenge on the enemy that has assailed the civilians. The Resistance is responding to the call of the supreme command as to turning life in the settlements in the north of occupied Palestine into hell.
Hereupon, the fighters launched two sets of Katyusha rockets against each of the following settlements: al-Motelleh and Tarsheeha.

As well, the fighters launched Katyusha rockets against the settlements of Reishoun, Kfar Bir'am, Meskaf Aam, Milam Baroukh, Sikmata, Ramat, Neftali, and Keryat Shemona. And for the first time, the fighters struck Metsout el-Jalil Settlement.
In the afternoon, the Resistance again bombarded the settlements of Keryat Shemona, Yasoud Hamaala, Nahariya, and Alma."
Though the Zionist military censorship continued to restrict the spread of any information on the losses the settlements suffered, certain military sources said Hizbullah had launched 27 rockets that day.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Eleventh Day: Sunday, April 21, 1996

The Islamic Resistance went on with its counterstrike, declaring in a statement:
"The fighters are still bombarding the military targets and the touristic and economic establishments in the north of occupied Palestine...
Fulfilling the Resistance's pledge, the group of the martyrs of "Qana Massacre" and "Nabatiyeh Massacre", corresponding to the Islamic-Resistance Fire Backup Unit, launched a great number of rockets against the settlements of Gorin, Shelomi, Masouta, Margeliot, and al-Motelleh. Afterwards, the Resistance group bombarded the settlements of Nahariya, Kfar Gelaat, Keryat Shemona, Reishoun, Neot Mordechai, and Zarait."

"Haaretz's" military analyst Zaif Shef said, "Neither the "Israeli" artillery nor the air forces have been able to stop Hizbullah from launching tens of rocket shells every day and paralyzing the lives of Galilee (al-Jalil) residents."
Shef added, "Analyzing the rate of rocket launching reveals that Hizbullah has previously prepared large Katyusha depots. "Operation Grapes of Wrath" has not terminated Hizbullah's rocket supply."

Shef then iterated the "Israeli" military had been unable to strike Hizbullah's depots or even locate them or the supply routes.
Upon the statement of officers in Keryat Shemona, the enemy's channel reported that Hizbullah's attacks made this settlement suffer the greatest losses; so far 1,000 apartments had been damaged, and the settlers remaining there (around 4,000 settlers of 22,300 ones) had hidden in shelters.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Twelfth Day: Monday, April 22, 1996

The Islamic Resistance declared, "Starting with the midnight of April 22 until the afternoon, the Resistance fighters shelled the settlements of Shelomi, Gorin, Hashour el-Jalil, Tarsheeha, Sikmata, Kfar Bor'om, Azouk at-Tehtani, and Nahariya. The Resistance fighters as well struck Sadi Eleazar Settlement twice.
Likewise, the Resistance's rockets razed al-Bassa Air Base near Nahariya Settlement in the north of occupied Palestine. Approximately two hours later, the Resistance fighters shelled the air base again.

The enemy sources acknowledged that the air base had been stricken and that three "Israelis" had been wounded. Upon the statement of officers of "the Northern Command", the Zionist channel reported that the "Israeli" military operations against Lebanon had neither paralyzed Hizbullah's moves nor stopped the Katyusha rockets.
In the occupied region, the Resistance fighters continued to strike the Zionists. An Islamic-Resistance group ambushed a Zionist motorcade on Beit Yahoun-Kounine Route, striking it with a barrage of machineguns and artillery.
An M-113 half-track was completely burned, and at least each of 8 patrollers was wounded or killed.
In the afternoon, the Resistance attacked Ali at-Taher Site and razed the enemy's cannonade emplacements on Shreifeh Hill in West Beqaa.

A spokesman of the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon) said 99 rockets had stricken the settlements in the past 24 hours.
In the morning, the Islamic Resistance launched four sets of rockets against the settlements of West Galilee (West al-Jalil). The enemy's channel reported 5 or 6 rockets had hit an industrial plant in Keryat Shemona Settlement, also that the high-voltage cable had been destroyed.
Now the Resistance targeted a wider range of settlements: az-Zayb, Reishoun, Sadiya Nahmiya, Milam Baroukh, and al-Manara. Besides, the Resistance struck Nahariya Settlement twice and Keryat Shemona thrice.

As for the jihad operations, the Resistance artillerists targeted several tanks positioned in the surroundings of Braachit Site, hitting them at once. The artillerists as well shelled Toumet Niha Site and blasted a Lahd car on Aramta-ar-Rihan Route, killing or wounding each of the passengers.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Fourteenth Day: Wednesday, April 24, 1996

Further inflicting revenge on the barbaric enemy, the Islamic Resistance launched five sets of rockets against Keryat Shemona Settlement in the morning. The Resistance also struck al-Bassa Air Base, in addition to the settlements of Saasaa, Ain Yaakoub, Kfar Yufal, Yeftah, and Reishoun.
For the first time, the Resistance bombarded Zuhal Settlement. Then the Resistance struck Azouk at-Tehtani Settlement.

The Islamic-Resistance sources mentioned that after the Resistance received information on a ceremony the "Israeli" Prime Minister was going to attend in Keryat Shemona, the Resistance artillerists concentrated their missile strikes against Keryat Shemona Settlement.
The occupation sources acknowledged Perez had miraculously escaped death then.
Furthermore, the Resistance artillerists razed the Zionist sites of al-Azieh and Braachit. Other Resistance fighters attacked a Lahd patrol en route to Sojod, demolishing a "Reo" military truck, setting it afire, and killing or wounding each of the Lahd militiamen on it.

On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance proudly announced the martyrdom of three fighters from Majdal Zoun Town: Ali Mahmoud Harmoush, Hassan Mustapha Salman, and Haj Muhammad Fakih. The fighters were martyred while confronting the Zionist aggression on April 22, 1996.
Earlier, the Islamic Resistance proudly announced the martyrdom of three fighters from Maydoun Town: Sami Melhem, Ali Muhammad Qassem, and Ali Dakhlallah Madi. The fighters were martyred while confronting the Zionist aggression against West Beqaa.

UNIFIL's official spokesman Timur Goksel declared that Hizbullah had launched 1,100 Katyusha rockets in 11 days.
Upon the statement of Agent Provocateur Antoine Lahd, the French Press Agency (AFP) reported that two weeks of "Israeli" ground, maritime, and air attacks against Lebanon hadn't stopped Hizbullah's Katyusha rockets.
Furthermore, the Resistance razed these settlements with Katyusha rockets: Azouk at-Tehtani (twice), Ramat Neftali, al-Bassa Air Base, and az-Zawiya.
For the first time, the Resistance launched Katyusha rockets against the settlements of: Maaleya, Jaanoun, and Bir'am.

In the morning, the fighters performed a new, stunning operation in the occupied region. Though the enemy had been extremely alert, the fighters penetrated the military procedures, blasting a Lahd military Jeep on Marjeeyoun Main Road.
The Jeep was a part of a Zionist-Lahd military convoy, the militants of which suffered deaths and injuries.
Likewise, the fighters attacked Toumet Niha Site in West Beqaa and razed al-Aychieh Barracks.

Resistance Confronts Aggression: Sixteenth Day: Friday, April 26, 1996

Upon the statement of "the "Israeli" Property Center", the international news agencies reported that 1,280 settlement units in the north of occupied Palestine had been damaged, also that 50 cars were demolished by the Katyusha rockets.
After 16 days of war, several Zionist officers blamed the "Israeli" military intelligence for the failure of "Operation Grapes of Wrath".
In fact, the officers of "the Northern Command" acknowledged Hizbullah's capabilities to launch rockets had been underestimated.

For his part, the Deputy War Minister Uri Uor admitted "Israel's" helplessness: "We knew Hizbullah owned so many missiles, but none of us thought Hizbullah would keep striking this way."
The latest survey showed Hizbullah's counterstrike had cost "Israel" $ 100 million at least. The sources said the military costs, compensations, and losses might have made the sum exceed $ 300 million.
That day, the Resistance bombarded the settlements of Yeftah, Alma, az-Zawiya, Gorin, Keryat Shemona, and Reishoun.
At noon, the Resistance razed the settlements of Ras el-Ahmar, Kfar Yufal, Kfar Gelaat, Gorin, Sikmata, Deir el-Qadi (twice), and Keryat Shemona (thrice).

At 10:00 p.m., two rocket sets were launched against the north of Palestine after ceasefire had been declared. The ceasefire was to begin the following morning (Saturday, April 27, 1996), said military sources.
Only minutes before the ceasefire, Katyusha rockets struck the settlements of occupied al-Jalil (Galilee).
