The following are the Islamic-Resistance operations that took place during the month of March in 1996...

Islamic Resistance Performs Sixty-Two Operations in March, 1996

The resistance squadrons performed 99 operations, 62 among which were performed by the Islamic Resistance. The enemy acknowledged the death of 7 "Israeli" soldiers and 3 Lahd militiamen, in addition to the injury of 27 "Israeli" soldiers and 5 militiamen. All casualties resulted from the Islamic-Resistance operations.

In contrast, the Resistance announced the death of 15 "Israeli" soldiers and 9 Lahd militiamen, in addition to the injury of 28 "Israeli" soldiers and 5 Lahd militiamen during a series of unique operations. In fact, the Resistance reached the borders with Palestine, only two kilometers away from the Zionist settlements. Yet, the most significant operation was the self-sacrifice operation performed on Rob-Tleteen Crossing Point.

Islamic Resistance performs a security penetration, March 2, 1996

On March 2, 1996, the Islamic Resistance performed another security penetration, bombing with an explosive bomb agent "Hanna Ibrahim Hashem", who had been in charge of the Occupation's "Civil Administration".
Agent Hashem is the brother of Aakl Hashem and Yusuf Hashem, and he had served for Agent Provocateur Saad Haddad's Militia. Also, he had special relations with the enemy officers, and he would visit occupied Palestine on a weekly basis to meet the enemy's intelligence officers.

His center was the gendarmerie in Bint Jbeil, where he would blackmail people in giving licenses and would impose financial taxes in return for facilitating citizens' affairs.
The Lahd agents' sources have said that an explosive bomb exploded on top of the building including the gendarmerie of the Internal Security Forces in Bint Jbeil City, wounding agent Hashem; whereas the enemy's channel has mentioned that a person was killed in the explosion, unrevealing his identity.

Operation Houla-Markaba, March 4, 1996

Anew, the Islamic Resistance has penetrated the Zionist security procedures, stunning the occupation forces in the occupied region nearing the borders with occupied Palestine.
A short time earlier, a group of "the Islamic Revolutionary Army for Liberating Palestine" had delivered a coup to the occupation forces on the Palestinian lands nearing "al-Manara Settlement".
In fact, the operation aforementioned targeted a Zionist patrol. The fighters overcame a wired fence and alarm sirens, clashing with the occupation soldiers that were later backed by Zionist helicopters.

A statement of "the Islamic Revolutionary Army" pointed out the fighters safely returned to the liberated regions after having causing grave losses to the enemy.
As for the Islamic-Resistance operation, it targeted a Zionist patrol on Houla-Markaba Route. The fighters bombed an explosive bomb, killing 4 Zionist soldiers and severely wounding 9 others.

Both operations overwhelmed the occupation command and soldiers, especially when the operations concurred with the self-sacrifice operation performed by the Palestinian fighters in Tel-Aviv in occupied Palestine.
The Islamic-Resistance sources declared, "The Islamic-Resistance fighters were monitoring the moves of the enemy, ambushing Zionist backup forces tracking the group of "the Islamic Revolutionary Army".
Earlier, the group had performed the operation on the Palestinian lands.
As the Zionist force, which included senior officers and several soldiers, reached the ambush spot, the Islamic Resistance bombed the explosive bomb.
Pieces of some soldiers' corpses could be seen scattered a few meters in the air, and terror masked the other soldiers that stuck to the truck. Thus, the bomb shrapnel severely wounded them.
For some time, the Zionists' corpses remained on the ground until a helicopter landed down to evacuate them from the place.

The Zionist enemy acknowledged the operation. A military spokesman said that four militants, including a colonel, were killed and that 9 others were wounded "as a land mine exploded."
The enemy sources mentioned the names of the deceased soldiers: Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Amer (30 years old), First Sergeant Muhammad Ibrahim Fawwaz Badawi (27 years old), and First Sergeant Muhammad Saeed Jomaa.
Another Zionist officer remained anonymous, however.

Another Zionist source declared that four of the nine wounded soldiers were in a very critical condition, also that four others were in a critical case, whereas the injury of one more was not so serious.
Among those were Major Omar al-Laheeb and Adjutant Hussein Awde.

Islamic-Resistance Operations on March 10, 1996

On March 10, 1996, the Islamic Resistance carried out a series of attacks against 22 sites of the enemy and agents, which designed all sites facing the liberated regions. These operations were performed on the Day for Consolidation with the South.

Islamic-Resistance Operations on March 13, 1996

On March 13, 1996, the Islamic Resistance carried out a series of attacks against 22 sites of the enemy and agents, which designed all sites facing the liberated regions. These operations were performed on the Day for Consolidation with the South.

Islamic-Resistance performs an operation series in Jezzine, March 14, 1996

On March 14, 1996, the Islamic-Resistance performed an operation series in Jezzine, and Al-Quds Martyrs Brigade attacked a Zionist security motorcade of 5 civil cars, in addition to a van on which were a big number of military and security commanders. As a result, 5 enemy members were killed, and a big number were wounded.

The Islamic Resistance has dedicated this operation to the martyrs of the self-sacrifice operations in al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Tel Aviv in occupied Palestine. The sources have declared that the motorcade was guarded by soldiers of the Gulani Brigade and that the fighters and the enemy clashed violently.

"Handsomest Self-Sacrifice Martyr" Ali Muneef Ashmar Performs Operation, March 20, 1996

As the rabid Zionist-US schemes and campaigns increased, also as the internationally influential powers met in Sharm el-Sheikh to conspire against the Resistance and the Ummah, a young fighter set off to perform a self-sacrifice operation on March 20, 1996.
Until then , the Resistance's reminiscence had borne the stories of the great Islamic-Resistance self-sacrifice martyrs who demolished the "Israeli" military chief's headquarters in Tyr (Sur), ash-Shajara School (Literally: "the Tree School", which the "Israelis" occupied and used as a headquarters), the headquarters in al-Khiyam Plain, and the headquarters by Fatima Gate (the Good Fence)).

Actually, "the Handsomest Self-Sacrifice Martyr" Ali Muneef Ashmar performed his operation near the borders with Palestine, at Odeisseh-Rob Tleteen Crossing Point. The operation details are shown here below:
On Wednesday, March 20, 1996, at 1:45 p.m., self-sacrifice martyr Ali Ashmar penetrated a motorcade of "Israeli" senior officers near the borders with occupied Palestine.

The self-sacrifice martyr bombed his car at Odeisseh-Rob Tleteen Crossing Point, destroying the motorcade and killing or wounding each of the "Israeli" officers.
After the "Israeli" assails, the Islamic Resistance counterattacked armored enemy troops in the outskirts of Rob Tleteen at 2:05. The troops suffered severe casualties.
At 2:30, the Resistance shelled a gathering of Lahd agents at al-Mashnaqa Site.
At 6:50, the Resistance bombed an explosive while a Lahd-Zionist infantry was patrolling around Odeisseh-Rob Tleteen Crossing Point, where the self-sacrifice operation was performed.

The Islamic-Resistance sources explained the operation details as such:
The Zionist motorcade left "Meskaf Aam Settlement", passed Odeisseh-Rob Tleteen Crossing Point, and headed to Mashrou' at-Taybeh.
In the meantime, the self-sacrifice martyr entered the region in spite of all security measures the enemy had made. There, the self-sacrifice martyr waited for the convoy to return from Mashrou' at-Taybeh.

The fighter lay in ambush at a very close distance from the road. In the right moment, he blasted his loaded car, striking the motorcade.
The massive blast caused severe casualties to the motorcade, which consisted of several jeeps and trucks. The senior officers, especially the "Israeli" ones, suffered grave casualties, for the explosive bomb that self-sacrifice martyr Ashmar consisted of hundreds of lethal shrapnel.
Actually, the traces of the shrapnel could be clearly seen on the vehicles that the enemy showed on TV.

Although the Zionist enemy tried to conceal the self-sacrifice operation for hours, it eventually had to acknowledge it, having encompassed the operation zone with security forces and prevented journalists from approaching the place until the demolished vehicles were evacuated into at-Taybeh Site. Yet, the enemy left behind some damaged cars in an attempt to conceal the graveness of the losses.
The enemy sources acknowledged, later on, that a marshal was killed and a soldier was injured.

In contrast, other security sources confirmed that a Zionist marshal was killed and six others were wounded in the self-sacrifice operation.
The enemy sources confirmed that the deceased Zionist marshal was Kamal Zeidan (23 years old). The sources pointed out that Head of "the Northern Command" Amiram Levin announced for the first time in a press conference that the enemy had arrested a Lahd militiaman. Levin added that the militiaman was arrested upon suspecting that he had "assisted" Hizbullah to implant an explosive near at-Taybeh Village.

As for the enemy Prime Minister Shimon Perez, he checked on a number of wounded militants in Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa. The occupation sources, however, didn't mention where the ten militants, including officers, had been wounded.
Still, other sources did confirm that these militants had been wounded in the self-sacrifice operation.
On Thursday, March 21, 1996, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced in a press conference the name of the hero of the self-sacrifice operation: martyr Ali Muneef Ashmar. His Eminence reiterated that the Islamic Resistance absolutely had the right to counter the Zionist aggressions.

Sayyed Nasrallah launched the equation that verily overwhelmed the enemy. His Eminence said, "Quite proudly and confidently, we, Hizbullah, bear the responsibility of any decision we make regarding resisting the occupation. We as well consider the occupied borderline a battle field where the fighters are going to perform more operations."

Islamic Resistance Targets "Israeli" Settlements, March 30, 1996

In reaction to the massacre perpetrated by the enemy in Yater, in which two citizens were killed and another was wounded, the Islamic Resistance targeted the enemy's settlements in northern Palestine, Nahariya, Safad, and Keryat Shmuna (Literally: "The Eight Villages") on Saturday, March 30, 1996.
The Resistance launched three sets of Katyusha rockets.
The operation was to reiterate the Resistance would keep defending the Lebanese civilians against the Zionist occupants' treachery.

The Islamic Resistance, in fact, warned the enemy from making any foolish step. Also, the Resistance considered that the enemy was still going to pay more for its barbaric crime.
The Resistance saw its fighters had the right to counter the enemy any time they found convenient, for only power could stop the enemy from perpetrating massacres.

Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had earlier commented on Yater Massacre, saying the enemy had again breached "the April Agreement"...
His Eminence said, "The "Israelis" must taste the bitterness of any aggression they perpetrate against our people. The era when only our people get killed and only our houses are demolished is history now! This is an era when an eye is for an eye!"
