May 25 has almost arrived, bringing along memories of freedom engraved in the memories of the Lebanese people. The always-alive spirit of victory fills the air. It is the victory that was achieved when young men became martyrs as they stood to confront the "Israeli" enemy and liberate their homeland, Lebanon.

Thousands of these young men, vowed to sacrifice their souls, to defend their land and people in face of Zionist aggressions. They passed away. But they remain to carry their mothers' unwavering hearts.

In a 1st of its kind event, the Hizbullah Women Community organized an event to commemorate the memory of martyrs of all anti-"Israel" resistance stages in Lebanon. It is an event to honor the mothers of the martyrs, the fruit of their loins.

The organizers hoped to hold the event annually, by that commemorating the sacrifices and victories, and thanking the mothers of resistance.

Um Ahmad, a mother of two martyrs Ahmad and Mohammad Hajj Hassan took part in the event. Um Ahmad hailed her children's morals, who were martyred in February 1988 (Ahmad) and May 1988 (Mohammad) in defense of Lebanon.

"They were among the first fighters in Hizbullah's resistance lines, and they were among the first martyrs to fulfill the message," Um Ahmad recalled, her eyes glowed with tears.
"It makes me proud that my children walked on the path of pride and dignity," she told moqawama.org.

The 80s constituted the first stage of resistance against the "Israeli" enemy, while the 90s had major stations of success. But the year 2000 was recognized as the "peak" of achievements against "Israel". On May 25 2000, "Israel" left its bunkers and station to retreat and withdraw back into occupied Palestine.

Ali Zein, martyred on 24 May 2000, was among the young men whose names are bannered as the martyrs "who made victory".

"The memory of May revives sorrow and grief in our hearts," the mother of martyr Ali told moqawama.org despite her delight to be a mother of a hero.
Praising her son and fellow martyrs, she stressed "If it weren't for their blood and sacrifices, South Lebanon wouldn't have been liberated and freed."
"As a mother of a martyr, I am honored that my son was one of the victory and liberation makers," Um Ali added.

"Words are inadequate to describe Ali. He was very special," Um Ali emphasized.

May 25 2000 was not the final station, the resistance did not hold back; however, it became more steadfast and more young men joined to become fighters for freedom. They were willing to sacrifice themselves for the dignity and independence of their country.
The year 2006 was the echo that affirmed the 2000 victory. That was when the Resistance achieved the "divine victory" when "Israel" launched the July war on Lebanon and was defeated on all levels.

Mohammad Ali Charara was among the young men whose blood quenched the soils and blossomed into victory.
"I am very happy for my son because he was a martyr. He earned it. He had strong faith and was pious," said Um Mohammad Ali.
"I miss him. I shed tears of pride and joy reminding me that my son died to serve a message and cause," she said as a smile crossed her lips.

Mother of Mohammad proves to be a model to mothers. "We will all die at a certain point in our lives, and that is why a death of dignity is more valuable and serves a particular message. I truly wish martyrdom to all my children!"

Um Mohammad along with the rest mothers of martyrs were honored at this event. They had the chance to speak up and express themselves as mothers who sew morality in the souls of their children, to set an example of strength and faith.

Each mother was presented with a blossomy plant as a token of gratitude for raising their children on the notion of "sacrificing their blood" to serve a divine message and preserving the homeland.
