Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad confirmed that his country has enough funds to withstand a total embargo on its oil sales for several years.
"They (western powers) want to impose sanctions on our oil and we must say to them that we have that much saved that even if we didn't sell oil for two to three years, the country would manage easily," Ahmadinejad said during a visit to Hormuzgan province.

The Iranian President stressed on Tuesday that "the Iranian nation will never permit any one to forfeit its rights."

"Tehran will never give up even an iota of its inalienable rights," he vowed.
Ahmadinejad's statements came hours after his oil Minister Rostam Qasemi announced that Tehran has stopped exporting crude to Greece.

Qasemi said that "the sanctions against the Iranian oil sector started many years ago," adding that, "fortunately, these sanctions have had the least effects on Iran's oil industry and have not been able to hamper the oil industry's progress."
Iran has already cut oil exports to France and Britain in response to the US-led sanctions imposed on the Iranian oil industry.
