Imam Khamenei: Obama Still Delusional on Iran

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei slammed the US president Barack Obama for threatening to bring the Iranian nation to its knees through sanctions on Iran.
Sayyed Ali Khamenei criticized Obama's threat to impose more sanctions on Iran, adding that Iran's enemies have been imposing repeated rounds of sanctions since the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution in hope of turning Iranians away from the Islamic establishment.
Imam Khamenei praised the "timely and prudent" turnout of Iranians in the Majlis elections, saying the parliamentary vote served as a slap in the face of the enemies.
In a meeting with Head of the Assembly Experts Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani and the body's members on Thursday, Imam Khamenei stressed that "the Iranian people voted for the Islamic establishment by turning out as a whole in the 9th Majlis elections, which proved that an overwhelming majority of Iranians confide in the Islamic establishment."
Imam Khamenei further added that the massive participation of Iranians in the elections was like a wake-up slap for those who have an illusion about the foundation of the Islamic establishment and its future as well as the Iranian nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that elections are a main pillar for the Islamic establishment and noted that the religious democracy is based on elections.
"So, every individual who believes in the Islamic establishment, feels duty-bound to attend elections even if he/she has any criticisms about certain issues," the Imam said.
As for the recent claims by US president Barack Obama that Ayatollah Khamenei further pointed out that Obama is still delusional.
"[Obama] announced that he is not thinking of a war against Iran, and said such remarks are good and indicate a step out of delusions. However, he has said his country seeks to bring the Iranian people to their knees by means of sanctions. This particular part of his speech demonstrates his continued illusion about the issue," Imam Khamenei explained.
Imam Khamenei stressed that the continuation of such illusions will backfire on US officials and fail them in their calculations.
