Iron Dome... Ironic Dome

Ynet - Zeev Tzahor

The intention of the security system to halt the planned production of the" Iron Dome" shows its superiority over the "Israeli" society. An independent self-ruling system was established before our eyes, has separated itself from the public it is supposed to work for. It uses the long Jewish memory sarcastically, which includes a central role of the enemy who rises early to batter us.

Aboard this fear, the highest multi-armed building, that develops itself by maximizing the threat of our being, was established. This hyped fear enables attracting a huge budget that strengthens the security system, which must expend funds on his power by maximizing the threat, and so forth.

When the paranoid "Israeli" society wakes up for a moment and raises questions about the appropriate use of the security budget, new horrifying data will be exposed and the signals of preparing a secret security response that requires the expense of billions will be leaked. And so any effort done to define the security system within the safe limits or any examination of what is happening at least behind the veil of secrecy will be repelled.

Yes, there is an enemy at the gates which requires a strong army and wise arms. We the citizens should spend our money on it for our own sake. But in a spiral manner to maximize the threats and take the system out of our control, a huge giant was found which has turned against its manufacturer and rules itself.
The issue of the "Iron Dome" is an example of the vicious circle which the security system rings the fearful citizens with and governs itself under the auspices of terror. After eight years of Qassam rocket fire on towns around Gaza, the security system responded and developed anti-missile batteries. The United States has expended funds for the benefit of this development. Iron Dome costs among other expenses of the security system are slight.

Since the batteries were installed near the towns, the sense of security, for the population living near Gaza, increased. Despite the continued firing of Qassam rockets, life returned to its natural course. Here it is, the sword is drawn on this defense system in particular. Sarcasm was addressed by the abjuratory question which defense spokesmen posed to the public: where do we cut from? The answer is abjuratory as well: from the surplus of fat. There are huge surpluses repeatedly mentioned, for there are many useless commands, pensions at an early age for people of permanent service and non-operational activities can be transferred to civilian companies to reduce costs.

Here is another tangible proposal attributed to David Ben-Gurion, the first defense minister: transferring the camp of the General Staff to the Negev. In addition to the strategic implication for the transfer of the missile threat from the heart of the civilian population, this proposal engulfs billions that will be obtained in return for the very expensive land in "Israel", from sparing of the construction costs and from the power that will be given to Negev in particular. While the security system announced the transfer of Iron Dome from civil towns into the army camps, tons of cement and steel are being poured into the General Staff camp in Tel Aviv to build an advanced fortification to the home front, the army's home front.

Here's the ridiculous summary: "those who decided to take the Iron Dome away from the citizens surrounding Gaza are building a metal dome that is much more expensive to protect their own selves only."

Revenge for the Mughniyeh Remains Open

"Israel Radio"

Commentator and analyst of security and intelligence affairs, Ron Ben-Yishai, said during an interview with our radio station, that the bombings which targeted "Israeli" officials around the world in recent weeks, are not Hizbullah's avenge to the assassination of Imad Mughniyeh, for the simple reason that the operations did not succeed. In the view of Hizbullah and the Iranians this is not enough, their revenge, whether it is fair or not, is still open.

Yishai said that everyone must be aware that what happened does not reflect the professional ability of Hizbullah and Iran. Recalling few years ago, when "Israel" assassinated of Abbas Musawi, the north flared up for three days and then one month after they killed an "Israeli" security officer in our embassy in Ankara and two months after the embassy was targeted in Argentina. He added that there is no doubt that Israel's deterrence is effective, but there's a complex element within this deterrence: the account of Iran, Iran strengthens Hizbullah and its rockets' power and the forces of terrorism abroad which are the strategic arm used by Iran in case we attacked the Islamic republic . Deputy Chief of Staff: We fight for security

"Israeli" Army website

Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Yair Naveh said before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that "it is the responsibility of the Army to ask not to discuss the need for the Merkava tank and the tiger personnel carrier, because they are necessary to reduce the extent of the next war if it occurred," and he pointed out that "enhancing the potentials of the army leads to boosting the economy in "Israel", which is what we want, and this can be achieved by continuing the production of tanks."

"The multi-year plan addresses existing threats, its intent is the implementation of capabilities against these threats," Maj. Gen. Naveh said. "I'm not fighting for budget, I'm fighting for security - and security costs money."
Maj. Gen. Naveh said that "Israel" is facing many security challenges, "the defense budget is for the army not the ministry of defense". He warned that if the army didn't receive the funds, then as of April all training will be suspended and some planes will be disabled.

He added that the financial cut would reduce the number of batteries of the "Iron Dome" to the four batteries, instead of six. The Magic Wand Project will stop and only the "Arrow3" will continue as usual. Launching the satellites "Horizon 9" and "Amos 4" was also postponed.

"Israeli" Army has no 2012 work plan

Israeldefene.co.il

The decision of suspending the project of the Merkava tank and armored personnel carrier "Tiger" is due to the conflict on the defense budget, between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance. Suspending the production of Merkava tanks means the dismissal of thousands of workers. According to the Manufacturers Association, that eventually held a meeting at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Ron Totnhuor, said that the project employed over ten thousand employees and 70 percent of it is produced in "Israel".

"Closing the Merkava project will cause the dismissal of approximately 2,000 employees," noted Totnhuor to those present. The Merkava is the backbone of the "Israeli" Armored Corps. In 2003 Merkava Mk 4 was being produced, the most advanced model of the tank. Deputy Chief of staff, Maj. Gen. Yair Naveh attended the meeting as well. He claims that "the IDF does not have a work plan for 2012, it is now being conducted." Naveh spoke of a difficult situation in the army with regard to the budget. "Every week I sit with my people to see how much money we have to decide which battalion can go training," he said, adding that "today there are 8,000 army personnel set below the minimum wage. I disagree with the Treasury about the financial adjustment of wages, for it is not less important than wage of contractors.

We are in crisis, debate with the industrialists." In the same context, committee chairman MK Shaul Mofaz said that "there's a problem of judgment. The Merkava Tank provides the front with security, but it also provides economic security. Who tries to harm and destabilize this project is detrimental to "Israel". And the damage will occur at different levels; at the social security and technology levels. "
