Exclusive interview by Hamed Nematollahi- Tehran

"After 33years of the Islamic Revolution, Iran is firmly pursuing its path that was first started with the Islamic revolution" said the Iranian Vice President for International Affairs, Ali Saeedloo.

In an exclusive interview with moqawama.org on the sideline of the celebration rally for the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Saeedloo, commenting on the mainstream media coverage of the results of Western pressures on Iran, confidently affirmed that "Most of what they say is propaganda.


The result of 33-year sanctions has been reason of the development of our country. Be confident that an anti-Imperialist unity throughout the region is being formed that will be a source of big changes."

On the current situation of the Middle East, he said "As everyone can see the people, especially the youth are awakened. The Iranians have been so for many years, and other nations have joined this path such as the Hezbollah of Lebanon who is in the centre of the Resistance."

Saeedloo added that now the movements in the region have become "more conscious and seek Islam, independence and freedom of the oppression by arrogant powers and dictators. There are different factors that determine how long it will take to reach them their goal, but it will happen," adding "I believe that a new phase of human history has started."

About the nature of the different movements in the world, he said that monotheist values have been the core to them and added that "in the region Islam is announced as the driving force and in countries far away from here, which constitutes of the fight for liberty, against being oppressed. Monotheist values have been proven to be the sole way of prosperity, as they hold all means of humanity within."

Speaking on the situation of the Resistance Axis and the current situation in Syria, Saeedloo said that the West wants to "divert the attentions from the pure uprisings" and "open a new front against one of the key players of the Resistance".
He added "Although they've put all their efforts on it, especially in the last two months, but thanks God, they haven't succeeded to reach their goal. We always have believed that reforms for a better situation of the people should be done, but no one accepts foreign intervention to topple a regime."

The Iranian vice-president announced that Iran is ready to economically help Syria in  face of the sanctions imposed on it," and concluded his remarks by saying "short term problems for the Resistance are inevitable but I am optimistic about its future."
