Sanctions Won't Affect Iran
Channel 10
The expert on Iranian affairs, and the editor of a monthly Persian magazine published in "Israel", commented on the EU's oil embargo against Iran by saying that "this procedure is worthless, because the regime in Iran can brainwash the Iranians, and affect them, therefore the sanctions won't push the people to topple the regime."
He added that all of the Iranian society feels the augmentation of the economic pressure, but on the other hand, the internal difficulty cannot influence the regime."
"Such -externally imposed- sanctions and embargo are of no impact, and might backfire because the Iranian people are of different mentality; the more pressure exerted from the outside or an external enemy, the more they unite and support their internal authority," he added.

Sanctions on Iran, Vain
"Israel" Radio
Yaakov Bar-Siman Tov, a professor in the Hebrew University and a member of "Jerusalem" Institute for "Israel's" studies, said that EU sanctions imposed on oil imports and on Iran's central bank are, unfortunately, ineffective.
He stated that the history of the sanctions shows that they are of no good and futile for several reasons: the lack of cooperation between two major international players, i.e. China and Russia, in addition to the extraordinary phenomenon of a very stiff internal unity and the high level of national dignity defying external threats, so they sense in Iran that it's possible to resist those sanctions.
Another important fact is that economic sanctions hurt the people not the leadership. He added that it's unlikely to detect a gap amid the people and the leadership, as the affectivity of the sanctions is unpromising, and noted that Russia and China are influential and they are two forces halting the efficacy of the sanctions.

MK Herzog Doubts Efficacy of Sanctions on Iran
"Israeli" Radio
MK Isaac Herzog of Labor said that the European stance as that of the Americans is a strategic stance that tends to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon, and it's not related to the "Israeli" position but to the fact that the world now realizes the big threat imposed by a nuclear Iran.
He praised the European position at a time several countries in Europe are facing a tense economic crisis, "but we are entering an edgy period in the global arena, I am still skeptical about the efficacy of the sanctions, but these are so much different than those of before."
"This means that every day you see an additional step following the decision of the European Union, for the United States has imposed sanctions on third largest bank in Iran and indirect sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran, this means that those who deal with Iran's central bank are now blacklisted."
