Eye on the Enemy: GOCs vs. Netanyahu, A Bloc to Combat Smuggling
GOCs vs. Netanyahu
Ynet
Members of the "IDF's" General Staff Forum met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and warned him against the ramifications of a possible cut in the "defense" budget, as they gave him a strategic report in which they demand funding.
According to "Yedioth Ahronoth", the officers who participated in the meeting, including various "IDF' commands chiefs and senior sector commanders, warned the prime minister that any budget cuts - and even leaving the budget as it is - will seriously impair the army's ability to meet the various strategic challenges "Israel" will be facing in the future.
One of the GOCs even went as far as saying that he "feared for "Israel's" safety," adding that "this is not the time to cut the "defense" budget. If anything it should be increased. We don't want to find ourselves back in the days before the Second Lebanon War."

Gantz forms a bloc to combat smuggling
Walla!News
Head of Military Intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi conducted a review for the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dempsey about the current developments in the Middle East with a focus on Hizbullah, Syria, Hamas and other Palestinian "terrorist" organizations.
The American general showed familiarity of what is happening in the region and in some cases he requested more tactical descriptions from the MI.
Chief of staff, Gantz pointed to "Israel's" efforts to thwart the smuggling of weapons into Gaza from Africa and the Persian Gulf, and into Libya through Sudan, Egypt and Sinai Peninsula.
Lt. Gen. Gantz described the phenomenon as "transatlantic smuggling". Gantz used this term during talks he held with the various European chiefs of staff he met at NATO headquarters in Brussels last week. Foreign military commanders have expressed great interest in this disturbing topic.
Chief Gantz agreed with the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dempsey, on strengthening international terrestrial intelligence effort to prevent smuggling. The army depicts the visit of Dempsey and his wife as a very successful visit and says that Gantz and his wife will return the visit to the United States soon.
