Vilnai: Next War, "Israeli" Officers Will Run Away
Rami Shani - Army Radio
"I won't guarantee that 225 heads of local authorities and brigades will not run away," he added.
In addition, he held the Lebanese government responsible for the rocket attacks on "Israel".
Vilnai, during Sderot Conference on Social Policy, criticized some local authorities' officials of the north who left their posts and traveled to "Negev" during the war.
He further clarified by saying "I can guarantee that Safed's mayor won't escape - but I cannot guarantee that the other 225 local officials or "Israeli" army commanders won't escape -we have already seen these things before."
It seems that the northerners didn't have the chance to defend themselves when the Katyusha was fired from Lebanon, for the air raid sirens didn't operate. The reason is deactivating the warning system following intelligence assessments suggesting that the likelihood of rocket fire at the northern border was slim. So the air raid siren system was turned off.
The air-raid siren system of the "home front" is distributed in different areas. In the north and the south, the system is turned on when the intelligence body suspects an attack from Lebanon or Gaza towards "Israel".
The system is supposed to trigger the alert automatically when a rocket launch is identified. Due to technical reasons, the sirens system operates in case of intelligence warnings are provided only; it might be damaged if it was operating the whole time.
The reason behind deactivating the sirens system will be investigated and a military source said Tuesday, "The northern command will be looking into providing 24/7 operating warning systems for the citizens who live near the borders."

"The regime is isolated from Turkey, the Arab world, the AL, the United Nations and the whole world, except of course Russia, China and Hizbullah," he stressed
"It is isolated, that's why it's an irreversible situation. We have to let it take its course and then we'll busy ourselves with the outcomes," Ya'alon confirmed.
