Military Investigating Magistrate Jean Fahd has brought charges against 52 people said to belong to an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group and accused of "intending to perpetrate terrorist acts against United Nations peacekeeping forces, falsifying official documents and transporting weapons," a security report said on Tuesday. The case was reportedly passed to First Military Investigative Magistrate Rashid Mezher. According to the report, Mezher plans to interrogate 14 people, including 11 Lebanese, one Syrian, one Palestinian and one Saudi national. "The others will be tried in absentia," the report said. The report quoted judicial sources as saying that the group was being trained in Tripoli by a Russian man identified as Mussa and a Turkish known as Abu Gharib.
