Lebanese President Michel Suleiman believed that the first stage of the swap deal that occurred Tuesday should be a lesson for the "Israeli" enemy to know that its ongoing war and aggressions will not result in anything, and do not allow the region to live in security and stability.

Furthermore, President Suleiman congratulated prisoners who returned to their parents, and hoped "Israel" would release all the detainees in its prisons. He also called for engaging in peace negotiations on the basis of the Madrid reference and the Arab Beirut initiative, further urging the halt of settlement activities in order to reach a just, lasting, and overall peace in the region.

On another hand, President Suleiman discussed with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour the main points tackled in the Arab Foreign Ministers conference held in Cairo over the situation in Syria.
