In a telephone conversation with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyeb Erdogan on Sunday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that there is room for cooperation between both countries in order to help the regional states create peace and democracy, IRNA reported.

Furthermore, Ahmadinejad added that both sides are bound by historical responsibility to assist the countries of the region in materializing freedom and democracy without foreign interference.
On another hand, Iranian President praised Erdogan's stance in opposing the US-led Western NATO invasions, affirming that the foreign interference in regional matters only exacerbated the state of affairs.

On his part, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan called for more cooperation and interaction between both countries, noting that Tehran and Ankara are capable of having effective stances towards resolving the regional issues.
