Russian FM: Iranian Bushehr to Start Operating Very Soon

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Wednesday that Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant is more likely to start operating very soon, further expressing hope that international talks would be renewed over Tehran's controversial nuclear program.

"We hope this will help is move forward faster than has been the case until now and that we can resume negotiations soon", Lavrov stated, expressing Iran's lively interest in his proposal.
In a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Moscow, Minister Lavrov noted that the date of the plant's opening was being agreed upon with the Islamic Republic.

On his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Salehi praised Russia's stance regarding Iran's nuclear program, furthering thanking the north Asian country for helping in restoring talks and negotiations in this regard.
Salehi also appreciated Moscow's "step-by-step" approach indicated in its proposal, adding that is contains good elements which Iran would be studying.

On another hand, head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi told reporters on Wednesday that the Bushehr power plan is currently nearing its pre-operation phase, stating that initial tests are in the final stages.
In this context, Abbasi announced that there is a plan for an official inauguration that would most likely be in mid-November or December.
