"National Struggle Front" leader, Walid Jumblatt said Friday that Lebanon is at a dangerous crossroads after the release of STL indictment. "Accusations made against individuals cannot be brought against a political side or a party because this represents a dangerous crossroad that will strike at civil peace." Jumblatt said.

"It's strange that the indictment was released soon after the formation of the government. We should be very careful and judge fairly to achieve justice." Jumblatt confirmed.
During a televised news conference, Jumblatt stressed that "decision to release the indictment was political. Its contents are similar to the media leaks that had been revealed in the past, requiring us to exercise vigilance in this phase in Lebanon."

"The political discourse must take on a logical course rather than an emotional one. Achieving justice should not come at the expense of stability in the country." He added.

Repeating former PM Rafik Hariri's statement that "no one is greater than their country", Jumblatt confirmed that "strife will not erupt in Lebanon and dialogue is the key to ending disputes. The policy statement called on all sides to dialogue to continue the construction of the state."
"The government, judiciary, and political and security institutions should perform their duties. I call on the political powers to rise above petty disputes and steer away from stirring tensions." National Struggle Front leader said.

Affirming that justice requires us to avoid falling into the trap of international agendas, similar to what happened in the past, Jumblatt reminded that he was the first to call for dialogue to settle disputes. "We should maintain the balance between stability and justice. As much as justice is important for the martyrs, stability and peace are important for the future."
