Imam Khamenei: Islamic Awakening In Region Is A Movement on Path of the Prophets

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei says the recent wave of Islamic awakening in regional countries is against the United States and "Israel" in essence.

"The essence of the Islamic awakening in the countries of the region is an anti-Zionism and anti-US movement," Imam Khamenei said on Thursday.
"The Islamic awakening of the regional nations is a movement on the path of the prophets; and through vigilance, Muslim nations and Iran's great nation will not allow the Americans and the Zionists to derail or hijack this magnificent movement by causing rift and other plots," the Imam said.

"The great Islamic awakening in Egypt, Tunisia and other countries shows that the cruel and humiliating balance that the expansionist Westerners and puppet rulers had forced on the regional nations during the past 150 years has been upset and a new chapter has begun in the history of the region," Imam Khamenei pointed out.

Imam Khamenei also assured that the Iranian nation and the Islamic establishment would always support any justice-seeking and anti-imperialistic movement.

His Eminence Imam Khamenei said any movement against the US and Zionism as well as "any nation which rises against the US international dictatorship and domestic dictators" will be supported by Iran.

Referring to the recent developments in Syria, the Imam said the US was trying to cause troubles for Damascus by simulating in Syria the events which took place in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Libya.

"But the nature of developments in Syria is different from events in other regional countries," the Leader said, adding that US and Israel's involvement in the recent unrest in Syria is obvious.
