Sayyed Khamenei: Justice is Main Goal of Religions
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has stressed the importance of developing a "pure" Islamic theory on justice.
"Our goal is to reach a pure Islamic theory on justice; to reach this very important goal, we have to refer to Islamic references from a modern and innovative perspective and extract a pure Islamic theory regarding justice using relevant methods and techniques," Imam Khamenei said.
"We must try to turn justice into a living and permanently-present discourse in ... the country and [have justice become] a major issue among the elite-authorities-people and particularly the youth," the Imam stressed.
His Eminence Sayyed Ali Khamenei said justice has always been an issue of concern for humanity, adding that "despite various theorizations by thinkers regarding justice, the role of divine religions in this regard has been unique and extraordinary."
"Justice has been the goal of the social structuralization of religions and the progress of humanity within the framework of religion; and this serious attention paid to justice cannot be seen in humanistic schools of thought," the Imam said.
Imam Khamenei called for "serious efforts and exchange of views" on the part of scholars and thinkers to reach a pure Islamic theory on justice.
His Eminence stressed that even after reaching the pure Islamic theory on justice, exchanging views on the matter must continue. Sayyed Khamenie's speech came during a meeting on strategic thoughts in the Islamic Republic that was held Tuesday, where several scholars presented their papers and exchanged views with Sayyed Khamenei on the issue of social justice. This is the second meeting on such strategic thoughts ever held.
