Iranian Foreign Ministry: Special Relation with Syria Fruit of Principles’ Concurrence

Iranian Foreign Ministry asserted that the deep relations linking Iran to Syria, which extend to 32 years, are considered the fruit of objectives and principles' concurrence in the face of the occupation policy pursued by the Zionist entity and its main supporter, the USA.

In a statement yesterday, the ministry highly lauded the Syrian People awareness and knowledge, which foiled the US and Zionist conspiracies and intrigues targeting the Syrian pivotal role, sovereignty and national unity, asserting that such knowledge and awareness have laid the foundations for Syria's reform and development process with the participation of the Sate and People strengthening the stance, position and role of Syria.

"The steadfastness and will of the Syrian People over the past 60 years have had the distinguished role in preserving Arab dignity and in defending the rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese People," said the statement, voicing hope that Syria would continue playing its historic pioneering role under the reforms announced by the Syrian leadership.

The statement lashed out at the selective US claims about democracy and human rights calling on US officials as to recognize the region realities of events and as not to pursue their historic mistake of supporting the Zionist entity.
