According to a study published in the PLoS Medicine medical journal over the Guantanamo Bay,
US military doctors at the Bay ignored clear signs of torture in the military prison, and failed to investigate observed physical and psychological injuries.

The report indicated that medical records of nine prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay, revealed clear signs of injuries resulted by torture; a standard defined by the UN, and therefore the prison exceeded interrogation limits considered by the US as legal.

In this context, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Physicians for Human Rights, Frank Davidoff, pointed out "The review of Guantanamo medical records makes it apparent that those who authorized torture did so in a way that ensures the cooperation of medical personnel, not only in designing and implementing torture but in turning a blind eye to the medical evidence of its effects".
Moreover, MD Davidoff added that the fact that medical professionals ignored the obvious signs of torture is troubling; stressing that it requires immediate investigation.

On another hand, senior medical adviser for Physicians for Human Rights Vincent Lacopino wrote in the PLoS repoert, "Medical doctors and mental health personnel assigned to the US Department of Defense neglected and/or concealed medical evidence of intentional harm".

He also added, "When mental health professionals at Guantanamo notices psychological symptoms in the detainees, they often attributed it to personality disorders and routine stressors of confinement, despite the detainee's allegations of torture".

Furthermore, the Human Rights agency's medical advisor affirmed that the aforementioned medical personnel were at the US military prison to treat the detainees, yet they failed to fulfill their ethical duty as physics when neglecting to question or document the reason injuries and psychological symptoms observed.

This merely comes as another sign of US hypocrisy, especially regarding democracy and freedom, where it brags its constitution of democratic life, while in fact; it oppresses all humans and prevents them from their natural human rights.
