Tantawi: Iran is not an Enemy to Egypt, We Hope to Enhance Relations during Upcoming Stage

Head of the Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Mohammad Hussein Tantawi, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is "An Islamic country, and is not an enemy to Egypt".

In an interview with Der Spiegel German daily, Tantawi referred to the excellent position Iran occupies in the Islamic world.

Tantawi also added, "We hope that the upcoming stage would be a stage of special bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, serving the best of both countries".
