Hariri Calls on Bellemare to Say that Lebanese Telecoms Ministry is not Cooperating with the Investigation

Well-informed sources told As-Safir daily newspaper that "Hariri urged the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to issue a statement accusing the Ministry of Telecommunications in Lebanon of not cooperating [with the STL] or requesting that Lebanon does not hamper the tribunal's action." According to the sources, this comes in context of new pressures that aim at issuing the indictment and give the general prosecutor Daniel Bellemare what he needs to do so.

On a related note, former opposition sources said also told As-Safir that the announcement of the indictment has been postponed until the right timing, noting that the regional surprises turned out to have negative impact on the Future movement and its allies in the region.

Also, the sources pointed out that Hariri sees a last chance to make use of the indictment, by announcing it on the eve of 14 March, by that realize the Hariri goal of blowing up the situation in Hizbullah and Mikati's face.

In a new development, STL Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare has started illegal requests to obtain Lebanese documents and according to informed sources, outgoing PM Saad Hariri has agreed to violate the law and give Bellemare what he wants.
