MP Areslan: Lebanon Immunized by Canceling Agreement with STL, Retreating Judges, Stopping STL Financing

After his bloc's meeting with designate PM Najib Miqati, Head of Mount Lebanon Bloc Talal Areslan said that the government to be formed should have political characteristics in this critical period Lebanon is passing through.

Areslan added, "We appreciate PM Miqati's aid to all the Lebanese, hoping that everyone will cooperate with him in order to confront what the foreign sides are planning, especially regarding the tribunal [Special Tribunal for Lebanon], which represents a threat for the sovereignty of the country, and its independent decision".

MP Talal Areslan pointed out that the Lebanese mostly needed solidity and cooperation, adding what's needed not is speeding up the operation of forming the government, and not being hasty.

"Everyone is asked to hold responsibility and help the Prime Minister", Head of Mount Lebanon Bloc stated".

Regarding the conditions and requests demanded by the Future Bloc, Areslan considered they are one of the threats threatening Lebanon.

He added that there had been an agreement on canceling the agreement protocol signed with the tribunal, retreating Lebanese judges, and stopping the Lebanese financing of the tribunal.

In this context, MP Areslan clarified this is how the country would be immunized, along with its security and constitutional institutions.
