Speaker Berri: Syrian-Saudi Initiative Sincere, But Great Countries Game was Stronger

According to Al Intiqad correspondent, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed the importance of the role played by the Saudi King Abdallah Bin Abdel Aziz, and the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. In Wednesday's parliamentary meeting, Berri pointed out that he was confident of their sincere efforts to reach a settlement to the current crisis, yet the Grand countries game was stronger. 

Speaker Berri underscored that any step should come in context of democratic practice and should abide by constitutional regulations. 

He further added "the settlement was definitely for the benefit of all the Lebanese despite their belonging or affiliation, especially since a major cornerstone of this settlement was the full implementation of the Taef accord."
