Gen. Dave Laban, US War Ministry spokesman denied that the Islamic Republic of Iran was behind the shooting down of the mentioned planes. Earlier on Sunday, Iran announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has so far shot down two Western spy planes in the Persian Gulf.
This comes also in light of another confirmation from a US Official that the mentioned planes were shot down in the Gulf claiming these planes suffered technical problems.
The United States had denied earlier what the IRGC announced on shooting down the spy planes, but the Iranian TV broadcast footage showing spy plane taking off from US ship.
