Sources to As-Safir: Saudi-Syrian Efforts Resulted in Understanding, Rather Than Finalizing Lebanese Situation

As-Safir daily newspaper mentioned that a Lebanese figure, close to Syrian officials, urged people not to keep their hopes up concerning the Saudi-Syrian efforts in solving the Lebanese crisis.
In this context, the source referred that the Saudi-Syrian agreement was confirmed during President Bashar Assad's latest visit to Saudi Arabia to meet with the Saudi King in the Riyadh airport.
As-Safir source also added that what is requested afterwards is to set a 100% Lebanese understanding mechanism.
The source referred that Jeffery Feltman's interference, and Saudi King's flight to the US for treatment, resulted in understanding, rather than finalizing the situation and adopting a mutual understanding mechanism.
The same Lebanese figure also told As-Safir newspaper that the first article of the understanding states that the Lebanese Government should restore the signed agreement with the UN over the tribunal.
The source added that after that, further measures should be adopted, including disengaging Lebanese judges in the tribunal, and finding a solution for the Lebanese funding of the tribunal after the Lebanese Government paid its 2011 share in an unconstitutional form.
Furthermore, As-Safir source pointed out that the second article is concerned with finding a final solution for the false witnesses' issue, whereas the third article is concerned with forming a government of consensus.
