Deputy Hizbullah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem called on some Lebanese parties to stop depending on foreign sides to realize their aim through the indictment. He hoped that the conciliation would reap its fruits before the issuance of the indictment because it is beneficial for Lebanon.

He added that Hizbullah cannot determine the time required to finish the conciliation, as it is related to the nature of the Syrian-Saudi efforts, and therefore arriving to the conciliation is in their hands, Sheikh Qassem told Press TV in a n interview.

Sheikh Qassem said Hizbullah's opposition was not "because we fear the indictment but because we believe it is in Lebanon's interests that the country not be held hostage to baseless accusations."

When asked about the role of the US and "Israel" in the STL indictment, the Hizbullah official said they "are very enthusiastic in releasing the indictment as soon as possible."

"They believe that the release of the indictment will be a sword put at the neck of Hezbollah and they believe that its repercussions will weaken Hizbullah and hence bring about the circumstances which will enable "Israel" to benefit more and more, whether it is by issuing threats of war or by launching war."
