Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei condemned the deadly terror attack which killed dozens of civilians in Iran's southeastern city of Chabahar.

"The enemies cannot stand to see the solidarity and valor of the Muslim world and they fear Islamic unity and the lesson the Ashura uprising teaches us," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a message read out by Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Qomi at the funeral held for the victims of the terrorist attack on Friday, IRNA reported.
Imam Khamenei highlighted that the Iranian nation sees through enemy schemes and are well aware that the global arrogance intends to prevent the Muslim world from progress.

The grand Ayatollah further noted how the West is struggling to smother the country's uranium enrichment efforts through threats and baseless accusations, and described the confrontation as a battle between Islam and its enemies.

On December 15, terrorists targeted a mourning procession marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam Hussein (PBUH) near a mosque in the port city of Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.

At least 33 people lost their lives in a massive bombing attack which also left dozens of others wounded.
