As-Safir: President Sleiman Proposed False Witnesses Issue be discussed in National Dialogue Committee

Lebanese As-Safir daily newspaper mentioned that the two meetings held between Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Head of Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun and Head of Marada Movement MP Suleiman Franjiyeh, did not achieve any positive results.
The daily pointed out that President Suleiman proposed the possibility of discussing the false witnesses issue on the dialogue table, yet opposition parties refused this proposal, considering it sabotages the issue, further stressing that it should be transferred to the Justice Council.
The daily added that the Presidential discussions included the issues of national dialogue committee, holding ministerial council meetings to discuss the best for people's priorities, a possibility of reaching a solution in the false witnesses' issue, and seeking measures to prevent any indictment repercussions.
On its part, high ranked official sources told As-Safir that the Lebanese President stressed during his meeting Wednesday, on maintaining national unity and civil peace as a priority, also abiding by the law and constitutional rules.
Furthermore, President Michel Suleiman praised efforts of neighboring and friend countries, yet stressing that the responsibility to solve the issue lies on Lebanon, urging to deal with the situation with an internal national will.
