Sayyed Khamenie on Eid Al Ghadir: Iran More Powerful Despite Plots
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that his country has become more powerful despite enemy plots over the past 30 years.
"The enemies are working against the Iranian nation, but the Iranian nation has become stronger thanks to its power of faith and the enemies are becoming weaker day by day," Sayyed Khamenei said marking Eid Al Ghadeer and addressing over one million Basij volunteer forces across the Islamic Republic on Thursday.
"Iran is more powerful compared to 30 years ago", his eminence said, adding that the Iranian nation has been able to tread the path of God.
However, Sayyed Khamenei pointed out that the Iranian nation needs to surmount challenges facing the Islamic Republic through fostering unity and insight.
Sayyed Khamenei also praised the role of Basij volunteer forces in various areas and said Basijis are front-runners in science, research and technology.
"Basij has undertaken the most difficult tasks successfully," the Leader added.
On Wednesday, the leader granted amnesty to 649 convicts sentenced by various Iranian courts marking the occasion of Eid Al Ghadir. Such amnesty is granted to the convicts
according to article 110 of the Constitution upon a recommendation from the head of the Judiciary.
