According to As-Safir newspaper, Eckhard Vihopf, Attorney General of Special Tribunal for Lebanon's (STL) General Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare's office mentioned that the office is working in an independent form, where it cannot give out the date of issuing the indictment.
The office added that it has the ability to ask information from any country, and does not rule out "Israel's" role in giving information as well.
Commenting on the incident which occurred in Dr. Iman Charara's clinic in the Beirut southern suburb, Eckhard said that Bellemare's office will continue with its course of investigation, adding that the incident will not have any effect on the date of the indictment issuance.
The Attorney General of Bellemare's office claimed that any decisions taken by Bellemare will only be based on evidences, without taking into consideration any political aspects.
Attorney General Eckhard Vihopf also referred that they are aware that they are working in a highly politicized environment, yet added that Bellemare's decisions and indictment are not political and only refer to law.
On the level of indictment, Vihopf added that the STL indictment will only convict members and not governments.
