British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy agreed on sharing a signing two treaties over defense, security and nuclear testing facilities.
On his part, British PM said that these new defense and nuclear cooperation treaties represent a "new chapter" in a history of cooperation between Britain and France.
On the nuclear testing issue, a center will be set up in United Kingdom, where another center will be established France in order to carry out the nuclear testing cooperation.
At the Anglo-French bilateral Summit in London, PM Cameron said, "Today we open a new chapter in a long history of co-operation on defense and security between Britain and France".
Both sides also agreed on holding joint military drills, in addition to adapting a British aircraft carrier to operate with French and US planes all together.
British PM David Cameron also added, "Britain and France are and will always remain sovereign nations able to deploy our armed forces independently and in our national interests when we choose to do so."
According to the UK-based Telegraph newspaper, French President Nicolas Sarkozy expressed that the unprecedented treaties marked, "a level of trust and confidence between the two countries never equaled in history".
After a history of rival relations, France and Britain have been taking their relations into a new level, where both countries are willing to become "friends".
The first attempt made was by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, when being the first French President to do so; he chose to go to London to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Appeal of June 18.
In this visit, Sarkozy expressed to the UK that he and his French delegation have come as friends, hoping for further developments in the bilateral relations.
