House Speaker Nabih Berri said that "The visit of US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman seems to be in response to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit, and to say "To whom it may concern, We (the Americans) are here too."
In an interview with As-Safir newspaper, Berri highlighted the importance of the Syrian-Saudi Summit, noting that it "should stimulate the S-S equation which constitutes a guarantee of stability in Lebanon.
Berri also called on observing the political stances following the Assad-Abdallah summit, noting "this summit should positively reflect on more tranquility on the internal arena."
