Berri: We Will Not Give In to Sectarian Strife Triggered By STL
House Speaker Nabih Berri, stressed that he will never give in to religious sectarian strife in Lebanon since in his words "Israel" perceives in it its life time chance to finish the Lebanese off.
In an interview with London based Al Quds Arabi Wal Douwali, (Arab-International Jerusalem Magazine), he referred to the STL indictment as a detonator that would set the Lebanese time-bomb ticking but, thanks to the immunity provided to us by Syria and Saudi Arabia.
Berri questioned the so-called diplomatic onslaught by accredited ambassadors to Beirut over Ahmadi Nijad's visit. Drawing a parallel with the US which received him in open arms and yet wants to be more generous with him!?
Berri then sounded the alarm saying "Israel" was able to invade Lebanon in 82 because we were deeply divided. He spoke about inter-marriages between Shi'as and Sunnis putting the number at 362000 mixed marriages. He blamed "Israel" for working for to dividing the Lebanese.
Berri concluded on a note that Lebanese leaders need to engage in dialogue to defuse tensions and that Palestinian civil rights were approved without the right of real-estate appropriation in Lebanon.
