As the World Food Day 2010 comes, CARE International chose to adopt this year's theme as "United against Hunger", through distributing food for more than 60,000 people all over the Gaza Strip.

As the "Israeli" brutal siege continues for its 3rd consecutive year on Gaza, more than 60% of the Gazan population remains food insecure.

In this context, CARE International decided to work with close cooperation with local partners to start a new program in which it ties to minimize the siege effects as much as possible, through direct food assistance.

CARE International's program also includes the project entitled "Reducing Food Insecurity through Fresh Food Assistance and Agricultural Inputs to Vulnerable Households in the Gaza Strip", which is funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO).

For its fourth year in a row, CARE has been operating its intensive fresh food intervention, where October 16 will be the start of distributing fresh food packages for all food insecure and affected communities all over the impoverished Gaza Strip.

CARE International and ECHO strictly emphasize on the importance of committing to spreading food and health security throughout the inhabitant of Gaza.
