Qahwaji: Lebanese Army to Take Responsibility in Confronting “Israel”

Lebanese Army Commander Jean Qahwaji, in an interview with As-Safir newspaper, considered that the political security should come first, where political leaders' responsibility is historic at this moment in order to prevent any security struggles.
Lebanese army commander on the other hand stressed that there will be no incitement stressing that there is no fear over the security and stability, especially that the Lebanese army will be working to stop incitements.
Qahwaji also soothed the Lebanese people, addressing them that the security is controlled, and all rumors regarding politicization are not true.
Jean Qahwaji revealed that the Lebanese Army has started lately conducting a military-security plan that covers the capital city, in addition to some sensitive zones in the north, Bikaa, Saida, and the coastal line between Beirut and Saida.
In the same context, Qahwaji called upon all religious figures, who he believes to have an impact on the Lebanese people, in addition to the Lebanese's tensed situation, urging them to protect the internal Lebanese situation in face of foreign interference.
On another level, Jean Qahwaji warned that any attempt to exploit the military organization for political and security interests will not be accepted.
Lebanese Army Commander stressed that the situation in south Lebanon is calm, adding that the army is completely ready for its patriotic responsibility in defending Lebanon from any "Israeli" attack.
