Day after day it is proven that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is overthrown by politics, where now the United Nation is involved in the matter of requests presented to STL Chief Judge Antonio Kasizi.

The UN presented Judge Kasizi with a letter by UN Secretary General's advisor for legal affairs, Patricia O'Brien, in which there is a request from Kasizi and all general prosecutors and attorneys, so stop revealing any documents or evidences before the UN knows about it.

Expert on legal affairs, Dr. Hassan Al Jouni, in an interview with Alintiqad online website, wondered why the UN would request that, at the time when everyone is busy with the arrest warrants issued by Syrian Judiciary for 33 Lebanon, Arab, and foreign individuals.

Al Jouni confirmed that the UN has no right to this request, adding that the STL has an independent jury, which means that the UN cannot interfere in what's related to the judicial affairs.

The expert on legal affairs added that it is considered to be interference in the judicial duty, where Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has no right to address head of STL and tell him what to do.
