Lebanese Minister of State for Administrative Reform Mohammad Fneish confirmed that the Lebanese government is only concerned with the Syrian arrest warrants through the Lebanese Justice Minister‘s follow up.
In an interview with Alintiqad website, Minister Fneish referred that the ministerial council meeting on Monday witnessed normal debates and discussions, neglecting any rumors about tensed climates.
Minister Fneish wondered why anyone would think that the Syrian arrest warrants would affect negatively Lebanon's relation with Syria.
In this context, Administrative Reform Minister stressed that relations with Syria are not on a personal level, and are not related to any specific political party, but in fact it are related to the whole country and has joint agreements and interests.
"So far, not one single report has been distributed by the Justice Minister over the false witnesses issue", Fneish said.
Minister Fneish also added, "What occurred was only an agreement on distributing this report, and when this happens we would discuss it and then specify our stance in the Ministerial council".
On another hand, Minister Mohammad Fneish referred that so far there is no solution for the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), adding that this issue has been postponed without setting any alternatives.
