Bassil: STL Should be Concerned with Lebanon’s Interests to be Supported

Lebanese Energy and Water Minister, Gobran Bassil stressed that the major dilemma in Lebanon is not the issue of Jamil Al Sayyed, but it is the issue of false witnesses.
According to Bassil, the false witnesses misled the investigation in former MP Rafiq Hariri's assassination, referring that the Lebanese judiciary has the right to seize and investigate with them, through which Lebanon could reveal the truth about who fabricated them.
In an interview with "NBN" TV, concerning the accusations pointed at the Free Patriotic Movement by the March 14 coalition, which said that the first is planning a coup d'état against the government, Minister Bassil referred that claims of coup d'état against the government, aim at driving foreign support.
Regarding warnings of the possibility of situation deterioration in Lebanon, Bassil considered that some sides are exaggerating this issue in order to frighten people, and keep facts hidden away from the Lebanese.
Energy and Water Minister referred that the Free Patriotic movement is concerned with the success of the government of national unity, because it is part of it, in addition to the success of PM Saad Hariri.
Gobran Bassil also added that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) should be concerned with Lebanon's interests so that Lebanon would support it, while if it weren't, then Lebanon would stand against it.
