After the international Islamic community protested against the decision by Florida Pastor Terry Jones to burn the Holy Quran, forcing him to call it off, anti-Islam protesters still burned copies of the holy book on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks in the US.
In this context, Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani criticized the US silence over desecrating the Quran, urging the Muslim world to take serious action concerning this outrageous act.
According to ISNA news agency, Larijani said on Monday that this violation of the Quran is a brutal act which reflects barbarism in the modern era.
It is expected that if the US refuses to act wisely with the burning of the Quran, a harsh fate would be coming its way.
Ali Larijani stressed that Muslims around the world will not remain silent in the face of anti-Islam campaigns, and if the US government does not stop backing such savage acts, it should expect a crushing response by Muslims worldwide.
