Amnesty Condemns Oppression against Muslims in US

Amnesty International condemned Friday the atmosphere of oppression practiced on Muslims in the United States, including the threats by Pastor Terry Jones to burn the holy Quran.
The human rights organization's US-based branch expressed its deep concerns regarding anti-Muslim activities and crimes committed, adding that these crimes would flourish an atmosphere of fear, racism and oppression against Muslims.
The US branch also stressed that these anti-Muslim crimes have no place in a community which adopts freedom, justice and equality.
Amnesty called upon US authorities to adopt serious measures against all assaults aimed at Muslims, stressing on the importance of enhancing measures to protect all communities in the same way.
