A well-informed political source commented on PM Saad Hariri's latest interview with Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper saying, "This deviation in PM Saad Hariri's stances was set up during his latest midnight visit to Syria," As-Safir newspaper reported.
"(Syrian) President Bashar Assad had an honest talk with the PM, emphasizing on the fact that supporting the resistance in Lebanon and protecting it is an irreversible strategic Syrian decision; the headline of any good relation with Lebanon is based on this rule. This issue was described as an essential element in the National Syrian Strategic Security System," As-Safir quoted the source saying.
Furthermore, he pointed out, "Things moved from the stage of building trust to the stage of confirming this trust by actions rather than speeches, starting with closing up the most tensed file in the relation between Hariri and Syria, which is the political accusation pointed at it in assassinating former PM Rafik Hariri."
The source indicated, "The correlation between Assad's honesty and Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's honesty during his Al Quds International Day speech, revealed that there is an unprecedented importance to specify the directions and choices taken. Hariri's stance was to admit his mistake regarding Syria. However, the surprise was in his speech on the false witnesses and their role in tensing this relation."
Moreover, the source revealed, "Hariri's statement over the false witnesses was expected to come out within two months or more. However, he chose to take a shortcut, which indicates that no side could ignore the existence of false witnesses, and the Minister of Justice should present an inclusive file to the Council of Ministry, specifying methods to follow-up this case."
"Hariri's statement would lead to moving into a new stage in uncovering the false witnesses' operators. This might cause changes in PM Hariri's work team," he added.
