Hizbullah SG Receives Head of the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects
Both sides reviewed the latest clashes that took place in Burj Abu Haidar, and issued the following statement after the meeting:
The recent regrettable personal incident which occurred in Burj Abi Haidar, and which tragically developed, is not a result of any political or sectarian background. Both parties presented deep sorrow and paid condolence to the families of the martyrs.
Hizbullah and Association of Islamic Charitable Projects stressed on exerting efforts to help continuing the investigation conducted by the Lebanese army, in order to reveal what happened and punish those responsible.
In this context, we should stress on the role of the Army in keeping the country's security, rejecting any lack of acceptance or targeting by abusing or accusation.
Both parties also affirmed on adopting all measures to prevent the reoccurrence of this incident, in addition to removing all repercussions.
Of those measures agreed upon is forming a joint committee for surveying damages and making it up immediately for those who were damaged as a result of the clashes.
In the same context, both parties agreed on holding constant meetings to guarantee that what happened would not reoccur at all levels, and to confirm the importance of solidarity, preventing enticements, especially between the Sunni and Shiite parties.
Furthermore, both parties confirmed that this incident should not be exploited to inflame enticement and unsettle security and stability.
The meeting was concluded with stressing on the relation between both parties, hoping to enhance it and develop it, especially in light of challenges that Lebanon faces.
