Former Cuban President Fidel Castro said that Washington is in a "checkmate" position with Tehran.
While presenting his argument about the threat of a nuclear war he previously spoke of, Castro said, "The Yankees are in checkmate, no matter how intelligent they are", in reference to the US.
According to Xinhua agency, Fidel Castro said that it is US President Barak Obama's decision whether to erupt a nuclear war.
Concerning a US attack on Iran, the Cuban leader said, "Does anyone think the Iranians, a people with a culture of thousands of years and which is much more intertwined with death than ours, will lack the courage we have shown in resisting the demands of the United States?"
According to Castro, any attempt of a US attack on Iran, would cause eruption and push towards a nuclear world war, where power countries would interact and take part.
The US pressure on Iran started since the first aimed at imposing sanction on the latter over its nuclear program.
On its part, Iran has been regularly stressing that its nuclear program is peaceful especially that it is under the supervision of the UN nuclear watchdog, in addition to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
