Information Branch Arrests Tony Boutros, New "Israeli" Spy in Ogero
The information branch arrested on Monday an employee in the Ministry of Communication suspected of dealing with the "Israeli" intelligence. Even though information on the investigation were not available, Al Akhbar newspaper quoted well-informed sources saying that the detainee, Tony Boutros, was born in Kfarhouna in Jezzine year 1951, and is the head of the local cables section in the technical directorate in Ogero.
The same sources pointed out that the suspect has been in his position since 1995, and has been in charge of observing breakdowns in microwave transmitters related to the fixed telecom network in Lebanon from his office in Dekweneh.
In the same context, Al Akhbar newspaper quoted a source saying that the suspect is involved in the telecoms network section, and used to move to various locations to install and carry out maintenance work on fixed land lines. This made him an expert in the telecoms section.
The same source indicated that Boutros had good relations with a number of agents in Lahed militia, and that he frequently goes to Canada to visit his family that has been living there for years.
The sources stated that the suspect was in Congo during the past few weeks, and came back to Lebanon last week. The information branch arrested him based on phone call information.
Meanwhile, Al Diyar newspaper reported that four military vehicles arrived to Boutros's residence in Mansourieh on Monday at 2:30 pm; where officers broke into the roof where he lives and immediately arrested him.
Furthermore, Al Diyar pointed out that the suspect had special privileges in his work. Ogero provided him with two company cars, and he had several telephone lines. The most important privilege Boutros had was his residency in the company's mail manager's apartment since his migration from his town Mashghara several years ago. Moreover, all the efforts done failed to make him leave the apartment that he did not have the right to live in.
