Poll: 60% of Lebanese Believe International Tribunal Politicized
The "Information International" Beirut-based research Center conducted a poll among the Lebanese - conducted between the 12th and 16th of August 2010- studying their stances from the international tribunal investigating PM Rafiq Hariri's assassination, their viewpoint on the tribunal, on the Documents Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah presented, and on the side involved in Hariri's assassination.
The poll revealed that 60% of the Lebanese consider the international investigation is politicized, unjust, and biased; while 43% supported modifying the methods of investigating to become more honest and fair.
On the other hand, 17% called for the international cancellation of the international tribunal.
Moreover, the poll revealed that up to 55% saw that the information Sayyed Nasrallah presented is convincing enough to suspect "Israel's" involvement in Hariri's assassination.
In comparison with polls conducted previously, a big decrease is observed in the percentage of voters accusing the Syrian authority. While 40% previously accused Syria, only 3% adopt this position today versus a noticeable increase in the rate of voters accusing "Israel" of the former Lebanese PM assassination.
